牛辅 / Niu Fu (late Han)
Hanji 948 introduces Niu Fu before the post-assassination panic branch. The episode identifies him as 董卓’s son-in-law and says Dong Zhuo sends him against the 白波军 when they attack 河东郡.
This gives Niu Fu’s later remnant-commander role an earlier military-family context. Before he becomes a frightened leftover after Dong Zhuo’s death, he is already part of Dong Zhuo’s kin-linked command structure.
牛辅 / Niu Fu enters the wiki through Hanji 965 as 董卓’s son-in-law and one of the immediate remnant commanders after Dong Zhuo’s death. 吕布 sends 李肃 to attack him at Shan County, but Niu Fu defeats Li Su; Lü Bu later executes Li Su after the failed mission.
The episode makes Niu Fu important less as a victorious commander than as a fear case. Even after winning, he remains unsettled by the wider anti-Dong-Zhuo danger and by camp instability. A night-fright event in his army prompts him to abandon the troops and flee, after which his close followers kill him. His case grounds 军营夜惊群体恐慌 and shows why the broader 凉州系军阀 saw disbanding as existentially dangerous.
