欧格瑞恩 / Orgoreyn is the centralized, bureaucratic, and publicly orderly state contrasted with 卡海德 / Karhide in Le Guin’s 《黑暗的左手》. In 36.黑暗的左手：流放与爱的未来往事, it first appears attractive to 金利·艾 / Genly Ai because it offers order, comfort, and official welcome.

The episode then reverses that first impression. Orgoreyn censors information, stages political hospitality, uses secret-police pressure, and sends Genly to a voluntary farm where forced labor and drugs nearly kill him. 伊斯特拉凡 / Estraven’s rescue exposes the coercive structure beneath the surface of rational administration.
