庞煖 / Pang Nuan enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·秦纪》106｜惊人发现信陵君的非正常死亡 as the 赵国 commander whom 燕王喜 underestimates after consulting 剧辛. Ju Xin had once been in Zhao and knew Pang Nuan, but the episode says he tells Yan that Pang Nuan is easy to handle.
That judgment fails in battle. Yan Wang Xi sends Ju Xin to attack Zhao, Pang Nuan meets the invasion, kills Ju Xin, and captures 20,000 Yan soldiers. The source uses the episode to show that Zhao remains dangerous even after losing 廉颇 and suffering earlier disasters.
Pang Nuan therefore extends 灾后趁虚误判 beyond the earlier Li Fu/Lian Po case. The error is not only reading population loss after 长平之战 as helplessness; it is also treating personal familiarity with an enemy commander as enough to price his actual battlefield capacity.
《资治通鉴·秦纪》107｜最后一次合纵伐秦 伐了个寂寞 gives Pang Nuan a different role through the 《史记》 Zhao-house account. In that tradition, he commands a Zhao-Chu-Wei-Yan anti-Qin coalition in 241 BCE, gains no Qin territory, and then turns toward 齐国 to take Raoan. The page keeps this beside, not over, the Chunshenjun-led version because the episode treats the two accounts as unresolved variants.
