潘隐 / Pan Yin (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 943 as the subordinate of 蹇硕 who prevents 何进 from entering the palace trap. The source identifies him as Jian Shuo’s sima and as an old acquaintance of He Jin.
His source role is narrow but consequential. When Jian Shuo sends for He Jin under the pretext of entering the palace for consultation, Pan Yin signals danger with his eyes. He Jin understands, returns to his own camp, and claims illness rather than entering the palace.
Pan Yin therefore marks the first break in Jian Shuo’s succession-coup attempt. The warning does not solve the succession crisis, but it prevents the He side from being decapitated before 刘辩 / 弘农王’s accession.
