Peter Ward
Peter Ward appears in 697. The Troubles: Murder in Belfast (Part 1) as the 18-year-old Catholic man killed after leaving the Malvern Arms on 25 June 1966. The episode says Gusty Spence and his gang wrongly identified Ward and three companions as IRA men before gunmen opened fire.
Ward’s death is the episode’s closing murder case and a marker of how loyalist fantasy about hidden IRA enemies could become lethal. It connects the pre-1968 roots of The Troubles to the later civil-rights escalation covered in 698. The Troubles: The Brink of Civil War (Part 2).
