Price Club

Price Club is the warehouse-club retailer founded by Sol Price and Robert Price after FedMart in Costco. It originally targeted small businesses that could buy inventory directly from a warehouse, then expanded consumer demand through a credit-union group membership arrangement.

The episode treats Price Club as the direct prototype for Costco. Its limited SKU count, pallet handling, supplier-direct delivery, customer pickup, membership economics, hot-dog traffic, and Negative Cash Conversion Cycle created the operating system Jim Sinegal later scaled.

Price Club merged with Costco in 1993 to form PriceCostco, helping the combined company compete with [[SamsClub|Sam’s Club]] in the warehouse-club market.
