Prim
Prim was Yin Wu’s same-day laundry delivery startup in Yin Wu on Pulley, Equity, and Founder Resilience. Yin and her co-founder began it because they hated doing laundry, and for the first three months she personally picked up, washed, folded, and delivered customer laundry.
The episode uses Prim as a useful but incomplete founder-learning case. Doing the work gave Yin direct operational knowledge, and she says the unit economics might have worked in some cities, but the team was not excited enough about spending five to ten years building laundry operations.
Prim therefore qualifies Customer Discovery By Doing Work and Unscalable Founder Work. Fieldwork can reveal real process and customer pain, but it does not by itself prove Founder Product Fit unless the founder wants to keep serving that user and domain.
