羌渠 / Qiangqu Chanyu

Hanji 939 introduces 羌渠 / Qiangqu as the 南匈奴 chanyu ordered to provide troops for 刘虞’s campaign against 张纯. Qiangqu sends the left wise king with cavalry toward 幽州, but the episode says Southern Xiongnu people fear repeated Han requisitions.

That fear turns lethal for Qiangqu. 醯落 in the right division rebels, joins with the 屠各胡, and kills Qiangqu; the Southern Xiongnu then install his son 于扶罗 as chanyu. Qiangqu’s page is therefore the origin point for the wiki’s Yufuluo succession branch and for 边疆征发反噬.
