Hanji 958 adds an earlier pre-Cao branch. The source describes a large Qingzhou Yellow Turban force attacking Bohai and preparing to connect with the 黑山军 before 公孙瓒 attacks near 东光县 and defeats it.
This branch keeps the group from being only a Cao-side conversion problem. Before Hanji 964 and Hanji 968 turn Qingzhou-associated Yellow Turban forces into the background for 曹操’s Yanzhou entry and 青州兵, Hanji 958 shows the same type of mobile armed population as a reputation accelerator for Gongsun Zan and as part of the northern disorder field.
Hanji 957 adds the pressure Bao Xin sees before Cao Cao’s Dong Commandery opening. The source says Qingzhou Yellow Turbans crossing the Ji River are part of Yuan Shao’s near-field problem, which lets 鲍信 argue that 曹操 should secure a position while Yuan Shao is pulled between multiple armed threats.
