秦武王 / King Wu of Qin
秦武王 / King Wu of Qin appears in Zhouji 38 through the episode’s 《战国策》 supplement explaining 张仪’s move from 秦国 to 魏国. The source says that after 秦惠文王 dies and Qin Wuwang succeeds, Zhang Yi’s enemies begin attacking him at court.
In Zhang Yi’s pitch, Qin Wuwang is not merely pushing out an unwanted minister. Zhang Yi persuades him that sending Zhang Yi to Wei can exploit 齐国’s hatred: Qi will attack Wei, Qin can move against 韩国, and disorder among the eastern states will help Qin. The king accepts enough to send Zhang Yi out with a formal escort.
