齐襄王 / King Xiang of Qi
齐襄王 / King Xiang of Qi is the ruler title taken by 田法章 in 《资治通鉴·周纪》73丨历史上自由恋爱的开创者是谁？. After 齐湣王 is killed and 齐国 is mostly occupied, Qi ministers in 莒城 search for the surviving royal son and install Tian Fazhang there.
The page separates the regnal identity from the existing Tian Fazhang page. In this source, Qi Xiang Wang matters because the same person moves from hidden servant to restored ruler, turning personal survival into a public claim that Qi is not fully extinguished.
His first kingly act in the episode is also domestic and symbolic: he brings 君王后 from 太史角’s household and makes her queen, preserving the crisis relationship formed before restoration.
《资治通鉴·周纪》79丨史上用耕牛 打胜仗第一人 moves his restoration from declaration to capital return. After 田单 defeats 骑劫 and recovers the lost cities, Tian Dan goes to Ju, escorts Qi Xiang Wang back to 临淄, and is rewarded as Anping Jun.
The same source also revisits Qi Xiang Wang’s household by saying 君王后 later gives birth to crown prince Tian Jian. The wiki keeps that as a source-scoped succession note until a later source develops Tian Jian’s reign.
《资治通鉴·周纪》80丨诸葛亮的偶像 到底有多厉害？ changes the source tone around Qi Xiang Wang. After 田单 becomes chancellor, the host says Qi Xiang Wang’s breadth is not comparable to 燕昭王’s and that nine flattering ministers surround him. This is kept as a setup for the next Tian Dan branch rather than a completed judgment of his reign.
《资治通鉴·周纪》81丨历史早期PUA记实录（1） follows through on that setup. Qi Xiang Wang reads Tian Dan’s mercy toward a freezing old man as a bid for popular support and possible royal displacement. He briefly accepts an artisan’s advice to turn Tian Dan’s act into royal credit, but later listens when favored ministers use 刁伯’s warm reception in 楚国 to revive suspicion. The repeated audiences where he demands ruler-minister propriety while Tian Dan abases himself make him the ruler-side case for ritualized minister humiliation.
《资治通鉴·周纪》81丨历史早期PUA记实录（2） gives Qi Xiang Wang a partial correction. 刁伯 returns from Chu and says the king is speaking in a state-destroying way when he treats 田单 as an ordinary subordinate, because Tian Dan had restored Qi yet did not seize the throne. Qi Xiang Wang is shaken, kills the nine favored ministers, exiles their families, and enlarges Tian Dan’s grant at Ye. The episode still treats the correction as incomplete because the deeper insecurity of owing the state to Tian Dan continues to shape the minister’s later self-protective conduct.
《资治通鉴·周纪》87丨“狭路相逢勇者胜”终于找到出处了！ adds Qi Xiang Wang only in the closing 范雎 teaser. The episode says Fan Ju accompanies a Wei envoy to Qi and receives recognition from Qi Xiang Wang, but leaves the fuller humiliation and revenge sequence for the next branch.
《资治通鉴·周纪》88丨你怎么看待凤凰男（1） develops that teaser. Qi Xiang Wang privately gives Fan Ju gold, beef, and wine because he values Fan Ju’s speech, but the host stresses that the gesture is politically careless: by rewarding a subordinate rather than routing honor through 须贾 / 徐谷, he gives the Wei envoy hierarchy material for suspicion. The source therefore adds a good-intentions limit to Qi Xiang Wang’s page: recognition can endanger the person being recognized when it crosses court hierarchy and interstate distrust.
《资治通鉴·周纪》91丨触龙如何敲开守寡赵太后的门（2） closes his reign in the same annalistic year as the Zhao hostage resolution. The source says Qi Xiang Wang dies, his crown prince 齐王建 / 田建 succeeds while young, and 君王后 governs as regent.
