申阳 / Shen Yang
申阳 / Shen Yang enters the wiki through Hanji 143 as one of the lords in 项羽’s post-Qin settlement. The episode says he first takes Sanchuan commandery and welcomes the Chu army, then is made Henan king with his capital at Luoyang.
His page records a narrow but important settlement function: Shen Yang illustrates the episode’s principle that Xiang Yu rewards actors who cooperate with the Chu-led westward victory and help make the path into the Qin heartland usable.
Hanji 149 part 2 gives the reversal. After Liu Bang reaches Shan County and pacifies the people outside the passes, Shen Yang surrenders. Liu Bang then turns his territory into 河南郡, so Shen Yang shifts from rewarded settlement lord to an example of Liu Bang absorbing Xiang Yu’s peripheral titles into commandery administration.
