沈忠 / Shen Zhong (late Han)
Hanji 916 introduces Shen Zhong as a Liangguo-born langzhong who submits a high-risk memorial to 汉灵帝 after 曹节 and 朱瑀 regain room against 阳球. His memorial looks backward to 陈蕃 and 窦武, then accuses Zhu Yu and the eunuch network of fabricating rebellion charges, disturbing palace order, monopolizing favor for relatives, and corrupting provincial talent selection.
The episode makes Shen Zhong a late-Han witness for 君臣反馈失灵. He ties locusts, frontier rebellion, solar eclipse, earthquake, and other signs to political responsibility, invokes older collapse precedents such as 赵高 under Qin, and offers to confront Zhu Yu directly. His willingness to be boiled and have his family exiled if false turns the memorial into 赴死式直谏, but the court shelves it without response.
