士孙瑞 / Shi Sun Rui (late Han)
Hanji 962 backfills Shi Sun Rui as part of the anti-董卓 planning circle before his edict-writing role in Hanji 963. The episode names him with 王允, 黄琬, 杨瓒, and other officials discussing how to remove Dong Zhuo while 吕布 remains the decisive guard-channel problem.
Hanji 963 supplies Shi Sun Rui’s direct role in the anti-董卓 plot. 王允 has him personally draft the edict, then gives it to 吕布 so the killing can be announced as imperial punishment rather than private revenge.
Hanji 967 backfills Shi Sun Rui’s earlier survival after 董卓’s killing. The episode says Shi Sun Rui participates in the anti-Dong-Zhuo action, but 王允 takes public credit and Shi Sun Rui does not press the reward claim. 司马光’s “有功不伐,以保其身” turns his unclaimed merit into merit concealment self-protection: staying outside the visible center protects both the person and the clan.
Hanji 985 first places Shi Sun Rui inside the ministerial hostage side of the Li-Guo crisis. 郭汜 detains him with 杨彪, 朱儁, and other court officials while 李傕 holds 汉献帝.
Hanji 991 later shows Shi Sun Rui as a court official killed by Li Jue during Emperor Xian’s flight. The source notes that Shi Sun Rui had earlier helped Wang Yun kill 董卓, survived that earlier crisis, but dies in the renewed pursuit and river-crossing catastrophe.
His page is source-scoped. Shi Sun Rui now matters in two linked ways: Hanji 967 makes him a survival-through-low-visibility case, while Hanji 991 makes him a survival-limit case because prior anti-Dong-Zhuo merit does not protect an official once armed men again control the emperor’s surroundings.
