寿春 / Shouchun (Warring States)

寿春 / Shouchun enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·秦纪》107|最后一次合纵伐秦 伐了个寂寞 as the city to which 楚国 moves its capital after the failed 241 BCE anti-秦国 coalition. The episode says Chu calls the new capital Ying, preserving the old capital-name prestige while shifting the seat of rule.

Its significance is defensive geography. 朱英 warns 黄歇 / 春申君 that if 魏国 yields more central-plains points to Qin, Qin will be too close to Chu’s old capital at Chen. Moving to Shouchun is therefore a late Chu attempt to buy distance from 秦国东进压力 after 末次合纵失败.

Shouchun also sharpens the contrast between personal and state geography in Chunshenjun’s late arc. Earlier the wiki recorded his move toward 江东 as a safer fief choice; this source shows the whole Chu court facing a similar safety problem at capital scale.
