南唐 / Southern Tang

Southern Tang / 南唐 is one of the important southern regimes in 五代十国. EP252 《太平年》之外的五代十国，什么样？ groups it with 前蜀, 后蜀, and Wu as a relatively parallel power in relation to the central-plain dynasties.

The source notes that Southern Tang is one of the better-studied Ten Kingdoms cases and points to material remains such as Nanjing-area tombs. It therefore helps make southern states visible as cultural and political actors rather than footnotes to later Song unification.
