酸枣大营 / Suanzao Camp

Hanji 953 uses Suanzao as the anti-董卓 coalition camp where nominally large allied forces gather but fail to act. 曹操 returns there after the Bianshui defeat, sees the armies drinking and waiting, and argues that the coalition has wasted the opening created by Dong Zhuo’s westward relocation.

Cao Cao proposes a structured containment plan: 袁绍 should hold 河内 and Mengjin, the Suanzao armies should control 成皋 and 敖仓, and other units should block Huanyuan, Taigu, Danshui, Xi, and 武关 routes. The camp does not implement the plan; food shortages eventually scatter the armies, making Suanzao a clear example of common-enemy mobilization without common command.
