Sunny / Sun Bum Mascot

Sunny is the ape mascot for Sun Bum, created during the design process led by Tom Rinks and Rene Kennedy in Sun Bum: Tom Rinks. The Secrets of a Master Brand Builder (2023). The source says the final mark looked essentially like the logo still associated with the brand.

The mascot mattered because Sun Bum could put the ape on stickers, towels, balls, hats, ads, billboards, and retail displays without always needing the brand name. That made Sunny a concrete case of Mascot Led Brand Recognition and Visual Brand System working together.
