Overview

蹋顿 / Tadun is the Wuhuan leader who rises after 丘力居’s death, supports 袁绍’s northern settlement, and is later killed in 曹操’s White Wolf Mountain campaign.

Hanji 1032 makes Tadun part of the settlement by which Yuan Shao turns victory over 公孙瓒 into a wider Youzhou-Wuhuan arrangement before the Cao-Yuan confrontation. Yuan Shao favors Tadun and other Wuhuan leaders with chanyu seals, tying frontier recognition to rear security.

Hanji 1079 adds the endpoint of that alignment. Cao Cao’s army unexpectedly encounters Wuhuan near White Wolf Mountain, reads the formation as disordered, and attacks under 张辽’s forward command. Tadun is killed, Wuhuan resistance collapses, and the surviving Yuan-side refugees move toward Liaodong.
