Taksin / 郑信

Taksin, also discussed as 郑信 or 达信大帝, appears in No.205 ⛵️ 潮汕往事：侨批、经济特区和没有等来的深圳奇迹 as a heroic Siam/Thai figure with Chaoshan / 潮汕 ancestry. The episode uses his story to show why Thailand and Siamese trade had symbolic as well as economic force in Chaozhou migration memory.

The source does not treat Taksin as the sole cause of migration. His role is narrative infrastructure: alongside rice trade, Red Head Ships / 红头船, and Zhanglin Port / 张林港, he made the southward route feel imaginable and prestigious for later migrants.
