Hanji 939 introduces 屠各胡 / Tuge Hu as a frontier group involved in two linked 188 CE crises. The source first says the Tuge Hu kill 张懿, inspector of 并州, making the province a sign of exposed late-Han office authority.
The same episode then places the Tuge Hu inside the 南匈奴 revolt. 醯落 joins with them, kills 羌渠, and helps create the conditions for 于扶罗’s succession. The page therefore links provincial breakdown and frontier-conscription backlash rather than treating the group as a standalone ethnographic entry.
