王朗 / Wang Lang (late Han)

Hanji 992 mentions Wang Lang before his Kuaiji campaign becomes the main subject. 袁术 assumes that Wang Lang’s hold over 会稽郡, together with 刘繇 around Qu’a, means 孙策 will struggle after leaving to help 吴景. The mention therefore marks Wang Lang as part of the obstacle field Yuan Shu overestimates.

王朗 / Wang Lang (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 1004 and Hanji 1005 as the 会稽郡 governor whom 孙策 defeats before taking the commandery for himself. Hanji 1004 gives the campaign detail: Wang Lang rejects 虞翻’s advice to avoid Sun Ce’s edge, holds Guling, and is then outflanked after 孙静 proposes a rear attack.

His defeated office still matters because Sun Ce later retains Yu Fan, Wang Lang’s merit officer. That retention lets the episode sequence show Sun Ce’s capacity to absorb local personnel before turning to the different problem Yu Fan identifies in Hanji 1005: the new ruler’s personal-security habits do not match his expanded status.

Hanji 1028 adds Wang Lang’s post-capture transfer. 曹操 asks the court to summon Wang Lang, 孙策 sends him back, and Cao Cao appoints him as 谏议大夫 while bringing him into military deliberation in the sikong office. The host reads this as scholar-gentry recruitment and possible balancing against the 荀彧 field, so Wang Lang shifts from defeated Kuaiji governor into a court-side usable elite.
