王美人 / 灵怀皇后 (late Han)

王美人 / 灵怀皇后 (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 973 as 汉献帝’s mother. The episode says she gave birth to Liu Xie and was then poisoned by Empress He, after which she was only hastily buried outside Luoyang.

In 194 CE, when officials ask Emperor Xian to choose an empress, he refuses to discuss palace selection before his mother’s burial status is settled. The Three Excellencies then request that Wang Meiren be reburied at Emperor Ling’s tomb and posthumously honored as 灵怀皇后.

Her source role is less a full biography than a court-capacity marker. The late-Han court can still perform posthumous honor, burial, and title ritual, but those rites sit beside the episode’s larger point that the emperor’s coming-of-age does not restore practical sovereignty under 李傕-era military pressure.
