王萌 / Wang Meng (late Han)
Hanji 915 presents 王萌 / Wang Meng as 王甫’s son, arrested when 阳球 moves against Wang Fu, 段熲, and Wang Fu’s family network. His role is brief but emotionally sharp: he pleads that his father not be tortured, then curses Yang Qiu when the interrogation turns brutal.
The episode uses Wang Meng to show that Yang Qiu’s anti-eunuch prosecution is not a clean legality tale. The target is a corrupt and violent network, but the method includes torture, mouth-stopping with mud, beating father and son to death, public corpse display, confiscation, and family exile.
The Hanji 915 transcript renders the name as 王猛; this page normalizes the late-Han Wang Fu son as 王萌.
