王孙古 / Wang Sun Gu appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》73丨历史上自由恋爱的开创者是谁? as a follower of 齐湣王. After Qi Min Wang is killed, Wang Sun Gu returns home discouraged, but his mother rebukes him for not knowing the king’s whereabouts and not fulfilling a subject’s duty.
The rebuke turns into action. Wang Sun Gu goes to the market, calls for revenge against 淖齿 / 卓齿, and asks those willing to join to bare their right arms. More than four hundred young men join him, and the group attacks and kills Zhuo Chi.
The source makes Wang Sun Gu a bridge between personal shame, retainer duty, and public mobilization. He is not only a private avenger; his scene shows a small surviving Qi community turning the killing of its ruler into organized retaliation.
