魏豹 / Wei Bao enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·秦纪》117-1｜啪啪打脸！历史上“爽文”的开山鼻祖 as a surviving Wei royal figure after 王贲 floods 大梁 and 魏王假 surrenders. The episode says Wei Bao and 魏咎 fall into commoner status after 魏国 is destroyed, then later reappear around the Chen Sheng and Chu-Han transition.

His source role is mostly ironic. Wei Bao worries about his fate and asks 许负 to read 薄姬, his favored woman. When Xu Fu predicts that Bao Ji will bear a future royal or imperial son, Wei Bao reads the prediction through himself and imagines that his own fortunes may rise.

The prediction is fulfilled in a way that empties his self-centered reading. The episode says Wei Bao dies without seeing that Bao Ji’s future child is not his successor but 刘恒, son of 刘邦 and later Emperor Wen of Han.
