魏无知 / Wei Wuzhi
魏无知 / Wei Wuzhi enters the wiki through Hanji 150 part 2 as the Wei-origin intermediary who helps 陈平 reach 刘邦 at 修武. The episode says Wei Wuzhi and Chen Ping are both associated with the Wei field and know each other, so Chen Ping uses him as the introduction channel after leaving 项羽.
His role is small but structurally important. Chen Ping’s talent does not reach Liu Bang through a public exam or formal recruitment office; it reaches him through personal knowledge, trust, and access. Wei Wuzhi therefore belongs to the wiki’s broader pattern of talent entry through private channels, but here the channel matters because Liu Bang needs outsiders as well as old Pei County followers.
Hanji 154 gives Wei Wuzhi his decisive defense scene. When Liu Bang blames him after 周勃, 灌婴, and other old generals accuse Chen Ping of “盗嫂” and taking money, Wei Wuzhi says he recommended Chen Ping’s ability while Liu Bang is attacking his conduct. The episode makes this a wartime personnel argument: high virtue like Weisheng or Xiaoji is not useful if it cannot help Liu Bang defeat Chu.
Wei Wuzhi therefore becomes more than an access channel. In this source he protects the recommendation by practicing 道德诬陷焦点转移, moving the ruler from reputational scandal back to the role question: whether Chen Ping’s plans can help win the struggle.
Hanji 174 supplies the payoff of that recommendation. When 陈平 receives his founding reward, he credits Wei Wuzhi as the person who made his service visible to 刘邦. Liu Bang rewards Wei Wuzhi too, making the access channel itself part of the formal merit distribution.
