文种 / Wen Zhong of Yue appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》57丨古代发毒誓还有这作用？ as the minister 范蠡 warns after 越王勾践 defeats 吴国. The episode preserves Fan Li’s warning that bows and hounds are put away once birds and hares are gone, using it to explain why a successful minister can become endangered after the enemy disappears.
