吴芮 / Wu Rui
吴芮 / Wu Rui enters the wiki through Qinji 129-4 as the Panyang magistrate with strong local reputation, called Lord Pan in the episode. His source role is to convert 英布 / 黥布 from a convict-bandit military leader into an allied anti-Qin commander with local-elite backing.
When Ying Bu arrives with several thousand followers, Wu Rui marries his daughter to him and orders him to attack Qin. The episode presents the marriage as a political and military alliance: Wu Rui supplies legitimacy and local connection; Ying Bu supplies armed men and battlefield mobility.
The source notes that both Wu Rui and Ying Bu survive the broader turmoil. This page records that as a signal that their alliance is not only dramatic but also politically durable within the episode’s compressed account.
Hanji 143 gives Wu Rui his post-Qin reward. The episode says he leads southern Baiyue groups into the anti-Qin campaign and follows 项羽 into the pass, so Xiang Yu makes him Hengshan king. His subordinate 梅鋗 also receives a large marquisate, making Wu Rui’s branch a southern-alliance case inside 周秦混合制.
Hanji 149 adds Wu Rui to the Yi Emperor killing order. 项羽 commands Wu Rui, 英布, and 共敖 to attack 芈心 / 楚怀王 on the route toward 郴县. The source groups Wu Rui among rulers reluctant to kill a former anti-Qin盟主, even though Ying Bu ultimately executes the order.
Hanji 169 shows Wu Rui surviving into the Han accession recognition field. He is named with 韩信, 韩王信, 英布, 张敖, and 臧荼 among the kings urging 刘邦 to accept the imperial title.
Hanji 169 part 2 gives the reward side of that survival. After accession, Liu Bang changes Wu Rui from the former Hengshan king into king of 长沙国, explicitly tying the grant to Wu Rui’s earlier leadership of 百越 forces against Qin. Wu Rui therefore becomes one southern example of 战场胜利到建国秩序.
