武遂 / Wusui (Warring States)
武遂 / Wusui appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》59丨一朝君王一朝臣 as the city 甘茂 advises 秦国 to return to 韩国 after the Yiyang campaign. The proposal is meant to pacify Han and stabilize the new post-宜阳 arrangement.
The episode makes Wusui less important as a battlefield than as a policy test. 秦昭襄王 accepts Gan Mao’s advice, but 向寿 and the Gongsun faction resent Gan Mao because their contrary position loses. Wusui therefore becomes one concrete object through which Gan Mao’s new-ruler court risk becomes visible.
《资治通鉴·周纪》60丨 中国第一位把持朝政的太后竟是她? adds the sequel: 秦国 attacks 韩国 in 303 BCE and takes Wusui again. This does not contradict Zhouji 59; it shows how quickly a stabilizing concession can be reversed when Qin’s alignment under 芈八子 / 宣太后 shifts toward 楚国 and away from Han.
