向寿 / Xiang Shou
向寿 / Xiang Shou appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》59丨一朝君王一朝臣 as a 秦国 official sent by 秦昭襄王 after Qin’s capture of 宜阳. His assignment is administrative: comfort the residents, settle boundaries, and regularize taxes and household registration in the newly controlled area.
The episode then makes Xiang Shou a court-politics actor. 甘茂 advises returning 武遂 to 韩国 as a stabilizing gesture, and Qin Zhaoxiang Wang accepts the advice. Xiang Shou and the Gongsun faction resent Gan Mao after the proposal is adopted, helping turn a post-victory policy dispute into part of Gan Mao’s later insecurity.
