项襄 / Xiang Xiang

项襄 / Xiang Xiang enters the wiki through Hanji 169 as a Xiang-family figure whom the episode uses to show that not all of 项羽’s clan followed him to the end.

The source says Xiang Xiang was Xiang Yu’s uncle and had already submitted to 刘邦 around the 205 BCE Pengcheng campaign because he judged Xiang Yu’s cause as unlikely to last. After Liu Bang’s accession, Xiang Xiang receives the Tao marquisate and the Liu surname.

His page therefore belongs to the postwar absorption branch. Liu Bang does not simply eliminate Xiang kin after victory; he turns selected Xiang relatives into rewarded members of the new order.
