夏说 / Xia Shuo

夏说 / Xia Shuo first appears source-scoped in Hanji 144 part 2 as one of the minor intermediaries around 陈馀’s appeal against 张耳 and 项羽’s settlement. That ingest did not create a page because the role was still low signal.

Hanji 149 gives Xia Shuo a clearer administrative role. After Chen Yu defeats Zhang Er, restores 赵歇, and receives the Dai kingship, Chen Yu stays in Zhao to support the restored Zhao court rather than moving back to his own封国. He appoints Xia Shuo as相国 to handle Dai affairs on his behalf.

The page therefore records Xia Shuo as a small but useful indicator of Chen Yu’s priorities. Chen Yu values practical control over Zhao’s center more than immediate presence in Dai, and Xia Shuo becomes the delegate who lets him separate title, territory, and day-to-day administration.
