谢公 / Xie Gong
谢公 / Xie Gong enters the wiki through Hanji 180 as the zhong dafu whom 刘邦 sends to question 贯高 after the formal prison interrogation has failed to make Guan Gao implicate 张敖.
His role is narrow but important. Because Xie Gong knows Guan Gao’s local reputation for loyalty and stubbornness, Liu Bang treats him as a credibility bridge between court suspicion and prison testimony. Xie Gong visits Guan Gao with imperial credentials, asks whether Zhang Ao joined the assassination plan, and reports Guan Gao’s denial back to Liu Bang.
The source therefore makes Xie Gong part of 刑讯守口式申冤 rather than a separate policymaker. He does not solve the Zhao case by legal procedure alone; he helps Liu Bang decide whether Guan Gao’s tortured testimony should be trusted.
