Overview

辛毗 is introduced as 辛评’s younger brother and 袁谭’s envoy to 曹操. His role now moves beyond message-carrying: he becomes the adviser-envoy who turns Yuan Tan’s desperation, 袁尚’s exhaustion, and Hebei famine into Cao Cao’s intervention case.

After Yuan Shang defeats Yuan Tan and then besieges him at Pingyuan, Yuan Tan sends Xin Pi to Cao Cao for help. Hanji 1058 treats this mission as the downstream result of Guo Jia’s diagnosis: once Cao Cao relaxes pressure, Yuan-family infighting becomes so severe that one claimant seeks outside support.

Hanji 1059 follows the mission into Cao Cao’s decision room. Xin Pi reaches Cao Cao while Cao is preparing against 刘表, and Yuan Tan’s request forces Cao’s side to choose between letting the brothers continue exhausting each other and intervening before one side reunifies the Yuan base.
