薛礼 / Xue Li (late Han)
Hanji 993 backfills Xue Li as one of the Liu Yao-side figures whose position 孙策 attacks during the 195 CE Jiangdong advance. The source places him in the military sequence after Niuzhu and before 刘繇’s flight, while the later Hanji 995 source explains his prior Pengcheng displacement and killing by 笮融.
薛礼 / Xue Li enters the wiki through Hanji 995 as a Pengcheng chancellor displaced by 陶谦. After 笮融 murders 赵昱 and plunders 广陵, Xue Li also receives him courteously and is killed by the same broad pattern.
Xue Li matters in the source because his death proves that Ze Rong’s violence is not an accidental one-off. The episode uses the repeated betrayal to argue that Ze Rong’s religious display and social dependence should not be confused with a moral constraint.
