殷通 / Yin Tong
殷通 / Yin Tong enters the wiki through Qinji 128-7 as the 会稽郡 governor who tries to respond to the anti-秦国 wave after 陈胜 rises. He invites 项梁 to discuss rebellion and imagines using Xiang Liang and 桓楚 as commanders.
The episode treats Yin Tong as trying to hold both sides of the situation: he remains the Qin-appointed governor but wants to move into anti-Qin action before events overtake him. That calculation fails because Xiang Liang refuses to become someone else’s subordinate. Xiang Liang uses the search for Huan Chu as a pretext to bring armed 项羽 into the room, and Xiang Yu kills Yin Tong during the meeting.
Yin Tong’s death is the hinge of 会稽郡守府夺权. The commandery resources he hoped to direct against Qin instead become the base of the Xiang family’s independent rebel force.
