于毒 / Yu Du (Late Han)
Hanji 957 adds Yu Du to the earlier 东郡 attack before Hanji 961’s 东武阳 branch. The source names him with 白绕 and 眭固 as forces 王肱 cannot resist, creating the opening for 曹操 to enter Dong Commandery.
Hanji 961 normalizes this page’s display name to 于毒 / Yu Du while preserving the existing stable route. In this earlier episode, Yu Du attacks 东武阳 while 曹操 is stationed at 顿丘, but Cao Cao avoids direct relief and marches toward Yu Du’s base instead.
The result is the first visible Yu Du branch in the wiki’s chronology. Yu Du abandons the Dong Wuyang siege to return, after which Cao Cao advances to 内黄之战 and defeats 眭固 and 于扶罗. The source uses Yu Du as the pressure point that lets Cao Cao demonstrate 围魏救赵 logic.
Yu Du enters the wiki through Hanji 970 under the earlier transcript label “余毒” as the 黑山军 figure who connects with the 魏郡 soldier revolt and attacks 邺城, then becomes 袁绍’s first major retaliation target.
The source says Yuan Shao attacks Yu Du around Zhaoge’s Luchang Mountain, fights for five days, breaks his position, and kills Yu Du along with many followers. Yu Du’s page therefore marks the transition from Yuan Shao’s exposed rear crisis to a punitive mountain campaign.
