张曼成 / Zhang Mancheng (late Han)

Hanji 927 adds Zhang Mancheng’s direct Nanyang role before Hanji 930’s successor sequence. He is the Yellow Turban leader who kills Nanyang administrator Chu Gong, holds the commandery field for more than 100 days, and is killed in June when 秦颉 attacks him.

Hanji 930 names Zhang Mancheng as the earlier Yellow Turban leader whose death does not end the Nanyang rebellion. After he is eliminated, the remaining troops elect 赵弘, and the force grows again to more than 100,000 people.

The source uses Zhang Mancheng mainly as the precondition for the next command chain. His importance here is organizational: removing a leader does not dissolve the movement when the underlying armed network can select a successor and resume operations.
