赵靖侯 / Marquis Jing of Zhao

赵靖侯 / Marquis Jing of Zhao appears in 《资治通鉴·周纪》08丨一代名将吴起惨死(2) as 赵烈侯’s son Zhao Zhang, whom Zhao people install after 赵武侯 dies in 387 BCE. The episode notes that 《资治通鉴》 gives him little direct biography.

The host brings him back through 韩非. In that reading, Zhao Jinghou is indulgent, violent, and personally ugly, yet Han Fei uses him to argue that a ruler who can use people and detect truth or falsehood in ministers’ words can still keep a state standing. That makes Zhao Jinghou the source’s concrete case for Legalist Ruler Technique / 法家君术.

《资治通鉴·周纪》09丨战国时代的世界大战 names Zhao Jinghou in the new-generation ruler setting around the early Warring States melee. Because the transcript later varies Zhao’s ruler name in the war narrative, the war events are recorded mainly on 赵国 rather than treated as new Zhao Jinghou biography.
