昭平 / Zhao Ping (Rebel)

昭平 / Zhao Ping enters the wiki through Qinji 130-1 as a Guangling rebel actor originally sent by 陈胜 to seize Guangling. He has not taken the city when he hears of Chen Sheng’s death.

With 章邯’s Qin force approaching, Zhao Ping crosses the Yangtze to see 项梁. He falsely claims Chen Sheng has appointed Xiang Liang as Chu upper pillar of state and argues that Jiangdong is already pacified, so Xiang Liang should lead the 会稽郡 troops west against Qin.

His role is therefore not battlefield command but authorization manufacture. After 张楚政权 has lost its founder, Zhao Ping uses Chen Sheng’s name as a remaining symbolic instrument to move the Xiang family from regional seizure into wider anti-Qin war.
