The episode’s point is that Zheng Zhu’s reception becomes useful to 秦国 even without producing peace. Qin treats him with visible respect, making other states believe Zhao is already negotiating with Qin and therefore no longer a reliable coalition object. Qin then avoids real settlement, leaving Zhao isolated.
