种劭 / Zhong Shao (late Han)
种劭 / Zhong Shao (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 945 as the court envoy 何进 sends to stop 董卓 after regretting the outside-troop summons. Dong Zhuo initially ignores the order and threatens him with weapons, but Zhong Shao rebukes him forcefully and makes him retreat to Xiyang Pavilion.
The episode explains Zhong Shao’s leverage as reputation-backed constraint. His grandfather Zhong Hao had prestige among Bingzhou and Liangzhou soldiers, so Dong Zhuo risks damaging his own standing if he mistreats Zhong Shao; Dong Zhuo’s limited force also makes him vulnerable before entering 洛阳. This makes Zhong Shao a temporary check inside 外兵入京升级风险 rather than a durable solution.
Hanji 973 later uses Zhong Shao as a court remonstrance official in 长安. He joins 马宇 and 刘范 in trying to coordinate with 马腾 against 李傕.
The episode gives Zhong Shao the most vivid message-security detail in the plot. He hides a secret letter inside a hollowed bamboo slip, but Li Jue’s side has an infiltrator and reportedly identifies him through distinctive ink scent. After the plan leaks, Zhong Shao flees to Huaili and is killed when 樊稠, 郭汜, and 李利 attack.
