周昂 / Zhou Ang (late Han)

周昂 / Zhou Ang (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 958 as 袁绍’s appointed Yuzhou inspector during the breakdown of the 反董卓联盟. While 孙坚 is fighting 董卓’s forces, Zhou Ang takes Sun Jian’s base at Yangcheng.

The source uses Zhou Ang less as a developed biography than as the proxy through whom allied sabotage becomes visible. Sun Jian can claim he is risking himself for public duty against Dong Zhuo, but a nominal coalition partner’s appointee seizes his rear. 袁术 then sends 公孙越 to help Sun Jian counterattack, turning Zhou Ang’s occupation into the battlefield where Gongsun Yue dies.
