朱英 / Zhu Ying (Warring States)

朱英 / Zhu Ying enters the wiki through 《资治通鉴·秦纪》107|最后一次合纵伐秦 伐了个寂寞 as a Guanjin man who advises 黄歇 / 春申君 after the failed final 合纵 attack on 秦国. He argues that people blame Chu’s weakness on Chunshenjun’s governance, but that the deeper strategic issue is changing geography.

His warning is route-based. Earlier, Qin found it hard to attack 楚国 because Han and Wei could threaten Qin’s rear; now 魏国 is close to collapse, and if Wei yields Xu and Yanling to Qin, Qin forces will be very close to Chu’s old capital at Chen. Zhu Ying therefore turns Qin’s continuing advance into a capital-security argument.

The episode says Chunshenjun accepts the reasoning and moves Chu’s capital to 寿春. Zhu Ying’s wiki role is therefore not as a broad biography but as the adviser who translates 秦国东进压力 into Chu’s relocation decision.

《资治通鉴·秦纪》109-1|历史上最著名的皇帝被“绿”了 brings Zhu Ying back as the adviser who sees an internal danger after 黄歇 / 春申君 joins the 李源 and 李源妹妹 succession plot. When 楚考烈王 is gravely ill, Zhu Ying warns Chunshenjun about “无妄之祸” and says he needs an “无妄之人,” meaning someone positioned to meet an unexpected disaster. The episode stops with the warning, but it makes Zhu Ying’s role consistent: he detects threats earlier than the powerful listener does.

《资治通鉴·秦纪》109-2|春申君被皇帝大舅哥全族灭门 gives the full warning. Zhu Ying distinguishes the “unexpected blessing” of assisting a young ruler from the “unexpected disaster” that 李源 / 李元 will enter the palace first and kill Chunshenjun. He also volunteers to become the “unexpected person”: if Chunshenjun makes him a palace guard, Zhu Ying says he can kill Li Yuan at the decisive moment. Chunshenjun refuses, and Zhu Ying flees because he expects both that his advice will be ignored and that Li Yuan may punish him for knowing the danger.
