祖郎 / Zu Lang (late Han) enters the wiki through Hanji 983 as a local strongman near 泾县 in 丹阳郡. He attacks 孙策 while Sun Ce is moving through the region, nearly killing him.

The source uses Zu Lang to show that Sun Ce’s Jiangdong entry was not a smooth family takeover. Local powerholders could resist an outside force associated with 袁术, so Sun Ce’s later growth depends on surviving local hostility before converting Danyang and Jiangdong resources into a base.
